Tom Hsieh, CEO


Before starting with SplinterRock, Tom served more than 10 years with EarthLink beginning from its early start-up phase managing Engineering and IT functions, increasing in his leadership and responsibilities nearly every year. Acting as VP of Engineering, Tom was responsible for over 450 employees in IT, MIS, project management, software and network groups. Tom's last responsibility for Earthlink was to create EarthLink's Voice business (VoIP). Before leaving Earthlink for SplinterRock, Tom saw this division grow to a $50 million business from 2005 to 2006.

Tom has also been involved with numerous non-profit organizations. Tom was the founding president of the board of Pomona Hope, which now runs a community center, an after school program, a computer lab, a community organizing effort, a job creation/economic development program in partnership with the city of Pomona and for-profit businesses, provides housing services in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity and may soon open a free medical clinic in conjunction with local medical institutions.

Tom has also been a part of Servant Partners, an international organization working for holistic community transformation in the world’s poorest slums, for 13 years in various capacities including team leader for Servant Partner's Pomona site. He currently serves on the boards of both Pomona Hope and Servant Partners and is an elder at First Presbyterian Church of Pomona.

Tom received his Executive MBA from the Drucker School of Management in 2004 and holds a B.S. in Physics from Harvey Mudd College.
